Bible Study Notes (SOAP Format)
An insert to help you study the Bible with instructional dashboard
It can seem intimidating to open up the Bible and start studying it, but that's exactly what this insert gives you the tools to do. As you read a passage or verse, dig deeper using the popular SOAP method, which stands for Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer. Here is a summary of each step:
SOAP Bible Study Method
- Scripture: Write out a meaningful verse from what you are reading. The more senses you can involve when studying scripture (hearing, seeing, tactile/writing), the better.
- Observation: What stood out? What is God saying in this passage? Are there any commands or promises here? Any insights from the original languages?
- Application: How does this truth apply to your life today? Are there any areas of your life that need to change in light of this passage? Have you seen growth in this area lately?
- Prayer: Write a prayer asking God to help you live out this scripture. Ask Him to reveal truth to you as you meditate on His word.
